Friday, 29 August 2014

As the weather starts to warm and we move into the summer months in the southern hemisphere, I like to lighten my makeup up a bit, starting with my lip products. Lip gloss is just such an easy product to sweep on and brighten up a whole look. They add colour and shine that I think suits summer days perfectly. To get that easy, breezy lip gloss feeling without a massive price tag, here's a list of my top 5 favourite affordable lip glosses.

Review | Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eyeshadow

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

After the major success of the Color Tattoos, Maybelline wanted to keep the hype going with the Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Eyeshadows. As one of the very few drugstore pigments available in Australia, I definitely wanted to give these a try so I picked up two colours: 45 Downtown Brown and 15 Potent Purple.

Everyday Eye | two

Friday, 22 August 2014

It's high time for my second instalment of my Everyday Eye series where I show you some products I've loved wearing on my eyes recently. This particular eye look was inspired by a recent video from Sharon Farrell which you can view here. It's a twist on the daytime smokey eye that I love.

First, I prime everything with my little Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer and then layer my Nutrimetics Birds of Paradise Eyeshadow Liner Duo. This is a nice bronzy shade that, smudged out into my crease, forms the base for this look.

Review | L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire

Wednesday, 20 August 2014

Remember when Clinique released the Chubby Sticks and then every brand had to have its own collection of crayon lipstick? I think we're now facing the same for the liquid lipstick/lipgloss hybrid. First we had Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers, then Maybelline Colour Elixirs and Chanel Fluid Sticks. Now, L'Oreal has joined on with their Colour Riche Extraordinaires. I must say, after swatching these in store, I was very excited to give them a go and picked up two colours: 102 Rose Finale and 600 Nude Vibrato.

Haul | the Body Shop

Friday, 8 August 2014

I've wanted to try the Body Shop products for the longest time and when I heard more one final rave review of the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, I decided I had to get it. Little did I know that the Body Shop Australia has recently lowered the prices on almost all of their products for good! That was more than enough incentive to pick up two other products, as well.

Review | Biore Self-Heating One Minute Mask

Wednesday, 6 August 2014

You hear a lot within the beauty blogging community about the benefits of charcoal for de-clogging pores and purifying your skin, so when I saw this release from the trusted drugstore brand, Biore, I decided to give it a go!

My skin has been going crazy recently: getting really dry in the winter chill but always breaking out like it never has before! I was hoping this product would give my skin the added help it needed to return to normal or at least calm down for a bit.

July Beauty Favourites

Friday, 1 August 2014

This past month's body goodies have been a collection of brand new finds. Dry hair and skin this winter is my major problems so I've been loving combating them with these products.

A new release, the Garnier Beauty Oil Scrub has been a pleasure to use in the shower. Containing lots of little gritty bits, it gets rid of all the dry, dead skin on tricky places like my elbows but the argan, macadamia, almond, and rose oils leave my skin soft and healthy and smelling amazing! A really fantastic product that makes every shower feel luxurious! While moisturising my body, I've always been paying special attention to my hair with the raved-about Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque. I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype on my super curly hair and I must say that it does! My hair is soft, manageable, and much less frizzy when I use this product. I fell instantly in love!
