Mini MAC Eyeshadow Haul!

Sunday, 30 December 2012

Hey, guys! Firstly, I must apologize for my rather long absence as I haven't blogged or vlogged properly since much earlier this month but I was taking a bit of a break to spend time with my family and relax for a while. I hope you can forgive me!

Now, to the task at hand: Today I went on a bit of an adventure hoping to find some eyeshadows that I'd been looking to purchase for a while but which had been sold out! So, basically, this is just a mini haul I made today that I felt like sharing with you guys!

From left to right they are Naked Lunch, Mythology and Satin Taupe.

As you can probably tell from the packaging, these are MAC eyeshadows and they're actually my first ever MAC eyeshadow purchases!

I'm sure you're all very familiar with Naked Lunch and Satin Taupe as they're two of the most popular shadows across the internet beauty community. They're both frost finishes and are really lovely neutral shades which is what originally drew me to them.

The last, Mythology, is a beautiful peachy-pink-gold colour with a lustre finish that I'd honestly never particularly considered before talking to the makeup artist today. But once he'd put it on my eyes I was sold!

I was also lucky enough to receive two mini samples of the Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye Primer and Zoom Lash Mascara with my purchase.

I'm very excited about my purchases today and I can't wait to try them! I hope you enjoyed seeing my mini haul; let me know if you'd like to see more of these in the future!

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Sweet Hook

Tuesday, 11 December 2012

Here is the second of the pair of polishes that my brother's girlfriend gave me last week: China Glaze Sweet Hook.

At first I wasn't 100% sure about this colour because I don't wear a lot of purple polishes but once I put it on I was in love! This might even be my new favourite summer polish! I just adore the creamy, purpley-lilac quality of the colour and the way it almost looks like a baby purple.

The China Glaze brush is one of the best that I've tried and this polish's formulation is just short of opaque so I definitely needed two coats but it was worth it!

Now that I've got it on I really can't imagine wearing anything else!

Nails of the Week: China Glaze Custom Kicks

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

Last weekend my brother's girlfriend returned from a trip she took to Melbourne where she bought me a surprise gift of two China Glaze nail polishes! It was completely unexpected and very sweet of her because I'd been eyeing this brand online for a while!

The first of the two that I've tried out is Custom Kicks. It's a turquoise blue colour with the slightest golden shimmer that almost doesn't appear on the nail. In the photo I've accented one nail with Orly Shine on Crazy Diamond just for something fun.

I was really impressed with the quality of this polish. It has a good sized brush that makes application easy and the formulation of the product is fantastic. One coat is perfectly opaque with a smooth, even colour.

I'm really pleased with my new polishes and I look forward to wearing them this summer!
